Directions from San Francisco ::

Take the University Avenue exit, stay to the right and follow signs to "frontage road" (just like going to 4th St shopping area); continue on the frontage road (paralleling the highway) a few blocks to Cedar St, turn right on Cedar and follow it across Berkeley and up into the hills. At the top of Cedar, turn left on La Loma, at the second street, turn right on Buena Vista Way.

Directions from north of Berkeley ::

Take the Gilman Street exit, go towards Berkeley on Gilman, turn right on 6th Street, turn left on Cedar and follow it across Berkeley and up into the hills. At the top of Cedar, turn left on La Loma, at the second street, turn right on Buena Vista Way.

You'll pass several Bernard Maybeck-designed houses in the neighborhood, note the Andrew Lawson (geologist for the Golden Gate Bridge) house at #1515 La Loma built out of concrete over the Hayward Fault, the two-story street Maybeck Twin Drive, Maybeck's "studio/sack house" at #2711 Buena Vista, and the Temple of the Wings at #2900.
